Saying Dede Griesbauer is a triathlon legend is not an overstatement. Dede entered the sports world as a swimmer and competed in two Olympic Games trials, narrowly missing the Barcelona Games team. She retired from her swimming career and worked on Wall Street for 8 years as an equity trader. After completing her first Ironman in 1997, the urge to try again remained strong, and after finishing as top amateur at Ironman Florida in 2004, she took her professional licence. Since then, Dede became a 3x Ironman winner, finished in the top-10 in Ironman Hawaii 3 times, became the 2016 12-hour Time Trial World Champion, won Ultraman Florida 2020 in a world-record time and became an Ultraman World Champion in 2022. In 2024, she completed the Race Across America (RAAM) as part of a 4-athlete relay. Dede is now also a coach, a part of the Ironman commentary team, and continues to be a terrific ambassador for the sport on and off the course.
