Rasmus “The Terminator” Svenningsson started his triathlon career as an age grouper in 2015. He finished 3rd in his age-group in Ironman Kalmar in 2016 and 2017, before having a breakthrough year in 2018, when he won his age-group in Ironman South Africa, Ironman Canada and the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. He took his professional licence and started racing as a professional in 2019. Rasmus’ career highlights include winning Ironman Lake Placid in 2021, while also placing 2nd in Ironman Austria and 3rd in Ironman South Africa the same year. He unfortunately had to skip the Ironman World Championships in St. George in 2022 due to a clavicle injury, but qualified for the Ironman World Championships in Kona, only to have to miss it due to illness. Rasmus started the 2024 season with a win at Ironman South Africa, but then crashed in the Ironman 70.3 Les Sables D'Olonne, breaking his clavicle. Besides his racing results, Rasmus is most known for his unique training approach, as he often shares his big workouts, both of long duration and at power and paces most athletes can only dream of. Due to this, many refer to him as “The Terminator”.
